Rim of the World Recreation and Park Fund

The Rim of the World Recreation and Park Fund exists to support and strengthen the mountain communities we call home. Rooted in a deep commitment to local families, seniors, youth, and neighbors, the Fund helps make recreational programs, park and facility improvements, and community events more accessible to everyone. By investing in the places and programs that bring people together, we’re helping to create a more connected, active, and thriving community for all.
The Rim of the World Recreation and Park Fund was established to support the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District, an independent special district established by the Rim of the World Mountain community in 1985.
Serving over 70,000 acres across unincorporated mountain communities like Blue Jay, Crestline, Green Valley Lake, Lake Arrowhead, Rimforest, and Running Springs, the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District operates within a large, unique region governed by San Bernardino County. With limited, fixed-rate funding that doesn’t adjust for inflation, the District remains committed to maintaining its parks, programs, and services. The Rim of the World Recreation and Park Fund plays a vital role in supporting and expanding these efforts—ensuring our mountain communities continue to thrive through accessible, high-quality recreation and public spaces.
Current Projects that the fund will support:

- Dance & Fitness Studio Floor
- Shade Structure over Firehouse Playground
- Running Springs Area Dog Park Planning and Implementation
- Renderings and Planning efforts for a park in Crestline/Valley of Enchantment
The Rim of the World Recreation and Park Fund was established and approved by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District Board of Directors, who chose to use the Inland Empire Community Foundation (IECF) as a guide to assist in the management of endowments and charitable contributions. As a consort of IECF, this ensures transparency, long-term sustainability, and responsible stewardship of funds—allowing the District to better support parks, programs, and recreational opportunities across the mountain communities it serves.
