Public Notice: Storm Aftermath Update - Spring & Summer 2023
Storm Aftermath Update - Spring & Summer 2023
The Rim of the World Recreation and Park District suffered damage from the storm. We are continuing to work with the Park District’s insurance agency, engineers, and the other parties involved in getting these issues resolved and taken care of. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been a quick process. As a community agency, we understand the inconvenience this has caused for our constituents. Please be assured we are meeting all requirements to push forward the repairs needed.
- Harich Ball field, Twin Peaks, CA
The Twin Peaks Harich Ball field’s electrical panel was destroyed during the storm causing the sprinkler system and field lighting system to get damaged as well. The Park District is hand watering the field regularly. The fields netting was also destroyed, as poles broke under pressure causing the net to collapse. The proper insurance reports for these claims have been submitted and the Park District is following up on a regular basis to see when and how repairs will be implemented.
- The District Office, Rimforest, CA
The District Office suffered beam damage in the roof area above the Activity Room/Gym and in an adjacent storage/office area occupied by Blue Jay Physical Therapy. The building is habitable and deemed safe, although for extra precaution those specific areas have been closed to the public. The proper insurance reports for these claims have been submitted and the Park District is following up on a regular basis to see when and how repairs will be implemented.
