Summer Workshops:

“Royal Princess Tea Party”

Once upon a time, in a magical place high in the San Bernardino Mountains, Princesses-in-Training were summoned to attend a very special tea party where princesses-in-training will learn how to plié, point their toes, turn, kick, leap and walk like dancing princesses do. They will dance, share stories, play games, participate in stretch and warm-up exercises, barre work, center and across the floor instruction intermingled with fun activities, games and miming and hoop, fan, scarf or ribbon dancing. Princesses will end their special engagement with “tea” and “treats” and will be presented with a tiara. Princesses may come dressed in their princess attire or in their leotards, tutus and tights and ballet shoes.

“Move it! Hip Hop Dance Party”

Young dancers will learn fundamentals of hip hop dance while developing rhythm and enjoying interactive movements of the style. This high-energy workshop offered both in Rimforest and Lake Gregory, is a fun and fast-moving class taught in a positive environment that encourages dancers to not only improve technique, but to engage in freestyle/improvisational dance with other students while building confidence. Students will learn a short, funky routine by the end of the day.

“Hula Dance Workshop”

Students will learn basic steps, hand and foot motions used in traditional Hula dance in this workshop offered in Rimforest or Lake Gregory. Hula dance is intertwined with Polynesian culture and tradition; in addition to learning choreography, students will learn common words and phrases in the Hawaiian language and listen to traditional stories. At the end of class, students will be presented with a lei.

 “Greatest Showman Aerial Circus Workshop”

Join us in re-writing the stars in this 2-day aerial circus workshop where students will learn a variety of hammock, silk and lyra skills while listening to the Greatest Showman tunes. Students will learn beginning to intermediate level transitions, poses and sequences commonly performed by aerial artists during circus and cirque performances. This workshop is ideal for current aerial students as well those who are interested in joining an upcoming fall aerial program.
