Rim Volleyball

Rim Volleyball is a recreational program for boys, girls and adults that want to learn this sport in a fun, safe and supervised environment.  While the program teaches the skills necessary to excel in the sport of volleyball, the focus remains on participation, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility and, of course, fun!  Strength, endurance and improved coordination result from the weekly activity of the program with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and to build confidence and self-esteem in each participant.

This program is a high intensity aerobic routine infused with non-contact kick boxing moves to help strengthen muscles, while burning calories.  This program helps participants lose weight and stay fit in a group setting while having fun!

Creative Scrapbooking

Whatever your experience, or skill level, this class will help you create, preserve and share the moments that matter most.  You will learn how to preserve your memories faster, simpler and easier.  Set aside time with this 2 ½ hour class to learn new techniques, discover how to capture those all-important memories in the pages of beautiful scrapbooks.  Each class will contain the paper supplies with instructions and guidance to create two 12x12 scrapbook layouts.  You can work at your own pace or follow along with the teacher.  Throughout the course of the year you will develop a technique file to have on hand as a reminder of what you have learned.  DISCOVER YOU CREATIVITY!!!!

Yoga

This program will develop strength, flexibility and balance. Hatha style yoga is a method utilizing physical exercises to control the body and attain union of the self with Supreme Being. The postures and breathing techniques of Hatha Yoga yield many benefits to the practitioner’s health and well-being. Hatha Yoga promotes flexibility, tones the body, enhances vitality, cultivates balance, and calms the mind. It improves strength and endurance and increases awareness and concentration. It alleviates stress and creates a welcome feeling of wholeness and deep relaxation.

Heartsaver CPR

This class will teach CPR basics for adult, child and infant, foreign body airway obstruction and rescue breathing. You will learn both 1-rescuer and 2-rescuer methods. Participants that complete the course satisfactorily will receive a card from the American Heart Association. This card will be valid for 2 years.

Heartsaver First Aid

Heartsaver First Aid will teach basic first aid skills for shock, bleeding, broken bones, sprains, stroke, seizures, choking, burns, bites, stings and more. This program will also teach signs of common emergencies. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Heartsaver First Aid card from the American Heart Association.

Polynesian Dance

Come learn the dances and cultures of the Pacific Islands: Hawaiian, Tahitian, Maori and Samoan. Both Traditional (Kahiko) and Modern (Awana) hula dances are taught. There are classes for all ages from 4 years to 104 years. Classes range for beginner to advanced levels.

Japanese Karate – Do

Japanese Karate-Do is an art form where you learn basic and advanced techniques of SHITO-RYU KARATE, including various blocks, strikes, kicks, sweeps, throws, take downs, choke holds, joint locks, pressure points and counter moves. You will also learn the various karas (forms) and kumite (sparring) as well as self-defense for street encounters. The benefits of this training are good health, flexibility, strength, conditioning, balance, discipline and self-confidence all while learning this traditional form of self-defense.

 Dog Training

The Dog Training program will cover basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, heel, come when called, wait at the door plus learn a trick for graduation. You will be your own dog’s handler. Also, you will learn about training equipment, the importance of being your dog’s pack leader, how to get there and how it directly relates to your dog’s behavior. This program does not use treats in obedience training. Treats will only be used to teach you dog a trick for graduation.
