Frequently Asked Questions Concerning Youth Basketball
Q: Can my child be added to a team?
A: Currently we have a fairly long waiting list. You can submit an application and when there is a spot available you will be notified. You do not have to pay until your child is placed on a team.
Q: When can I speak with basketball coordinator?
A: The coordinator will answer your call, live and in person, on XXXXXX and XXXXXXX. All other days of the week calls are forwarded to voicemail. The calls on their message machine are returned at the previously stated times.
Q: My child doesn’t like the coach… can’t make the practice time anymore… wants to be on a team that’s winning… can my child switch teams?
A: At this time players are not being switched. If you feel your case for switching is exceptional please leave a message for the basketball coordinator.
Q: I’m a Coach – my team needs more gym time or – please switch gym times.
A: Currently one gym time per week is allotted when more time is available the coaches will be informed. To change your gym time leave your name, current practice time, requested practice time, reason for the switch, best time to reach you, and phone number. The basketball coordinator will call to confirm or deny your request.
Q: I’m a Coach – give me another jersey or – the jerseys size for one kid is too big.
A: Each team received jerseys based on their roster and the sizes were given according to the request on the application. If the child has worn the jersey in a game most likely the jersey will not be exchanged. If you feel your case is exceptional please leave a message for the basketball coordinator.
Q: Is the website updated?
A: The website will be updated if need be. Check for updates on Wed. after 6pm.www.rim-rec.org/ then click on Youth Basketball from there you’ll have the option to view practice times, the game schedule, team rosters and game rules.
Q: I’m a Referee/Score or Time Keeper – when do I work?
A: You can view the schedule online, go to www.rim-rec.org/refs
